2023 Black Hills / Sturgis Adventure

Our annual multi-state Adventure takes us to the Black Hills of South Dakota for a 2,400 mile (round trip) sojourn to Sturgis for the 2023 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.  Along the way, we will be stopping off at various state parks and other local sights as we pass through Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma before returning home 11 days later.

While in South Dakota, we plan on visiting all the sights including Mt. Rushmore, Custer, Needles Hwy, Devils Tower, The Badlands and much, much more.  This page will update regularly with reservations, route changes, and other things needed for this trip.  That said, there are a few "rules of the road" that need to be addressed:

• Know the route.  Should you become separated, you can always meet up with us at the next stop.  We will wait for you.
• Do not leave huge gaps in the group.  This is dangerous for so many reasons.  Try to keep up.
• Liz will be behind the group in a car/truck.  Any other cars should be behind her.
• We will stop every hour or so for a rest; every 2 hours for fuel.
  • Let's try to keep fuel stops short.  Like 15 minutes short.
  • Pot smokers -- pre-roll your joints so we don't spend 30 minutes rolling shit up.
• Every state but Iowa has a helmet law of some sort.  Plan accordingly.
