The 501 Riders community has been given an opportunity to evaluate the Viking Tactical Extra Large Motorcycle Backpack from Viking Bags.
Before we begin our own review, we'd like to hear from members who have real-world experience with this backpack.
According to Viking Bags, the Tactical XL offers 45 liters of storage capacity, weather-resistant Cordura construction, MOLLE-style attachment points, a laptop sleeve, water bottle pockets, and can be carried either as a traditional backpack or mounted to a motorcycle using its integrated strap system.

Do You Own One?
If you currently own, or have previously used, the Viking Tactical XL Motorcycle Backpack, we'd love to hear your thoughts.
Please share:
- What motorcycle you use it on
- How long you've owned it
- What type of riding you use it for (commuting, touring, day rides, rallies, etc.)
- What you like about it
- What you don't like about it
- How well it holds up in real-world use
- Whether you would buy it again
Photos are welcome.
Community Inspection Opportunity
In addition to our evaluation, Viking has made this backpack available for inspection by 501 Riders members.
Once we've had an opportunity to examine and document the bag, members will be welcome to:
- Look it over in person at selected rides and events
- Examine build quality, materials, storage, and mounting options
- Ask questions and provide feedback
- Compare it against luggage and backpacks they currently use
This is not a sales event and there is no obligation to purchase anything. The goal is simply to gather honest rider feedback and provide the community with a closer look at a product many riders may be considering.
What Would You Like Us To Test?
As part of our evaluation, we'll be looking at:
- Storage capacity
- Ease of packing and unpacking
- Comfort when carried off the bike
- Motorcycle mounting options
- Weather resistance
- Long-distance touring practicality
- Overall build quality
If there is something specific you'd like us to test or evaluate, shoot us a message and we'll try to include it in our review.
Thank you to Viking Bags for making the evaluation unit available, and thank you to the 501 Riders community for helping us provide honest, rider-focused feedback.
